The Timber Trail

About Us

Suspended in time, this ancient rain forest situated in the central north island with 800-year-old podacarps and remnants of the timber-milling era. A snapshot in time, an experience not to be missed.

Among the forest where Maori Warriors once roamed, and later Pioneers milled the tall timber you will experience a slice of New Zealand steeped in cultural and logging history. The largest track development in the North Island to date, this Grade 2, family friendly trail can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of age or ability.
